Psycho-Social Challenges Faced by Healthcare Workers in Peshawar, KP, During the Covid-19 Pandemic

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant effect on healthcare workers. Due to the ongoing demands of their occupations, these individuals have encountered elevated levels of stress and anxiety. This study examines the psychological and social effects of the Covid-19 virus on healthcare practitioners in Peshawar, a city in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. In order to collect information from medical professionals employed at two government hospitals, specifically Khyber Teaching Hospital and Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar, a technique called purposive sampling was utilized. Data collection was conducted utilizing qualitative research methodologies. Upon conducting a theme analysis of the interviews, it became evident that it is arduous to uphold a harmonious equilibrium between one's personal and professional pursuits. Moreover, the study emphasized the vital need of government endorsement in supplying necessary safety gear.
